These insects usually lay egg clusters of 50-150 eggs on the leaves, and subsequently drill holes in the foliage. Or the young larvae may heavily feed on the leaves leaving them skeletonized: shallow, dry wounds on fruit. The pests that attack this crop are Aphids, Cutworms Flea, Beetles, Hornworms.
soil
Yard long beans grow in a well-drained medium loam with a pH of 6.0-7.5.
spot
The plant requires a full exposure to sunlight, so plant accordingly.
temperature
Long beans prefer warm summers, more than 20°C [68°F]. The plant is very sensitive to cold temperatures.
how to harvest
When the bean becomes 12 inches in length, one can start harvesting the crop.
You can cut off the green coloured yard long bean with a keen knife.
If you need to determine how the bean pods grow, you can leave one or two of them while trimming. They will form peas inside the pod that can be consumed like any dried pea.
