Leaving behind the boardrooms, she set out to cultivate something more fulfilling—her own microgreens and edible flowers business, where every harvest is a tribute to her lifelong bond with nature.

How did you start gardening?

When I was a child, my grandpa would walk me through our backyard and make me take blessings from trees the way we touch the feet of gods or our elders. So, my relationship with plants, from the very beginning, was set with a great degree of respect and spirituality. Later in life, feeling disillusioned by my corporate job, I quit to start my own microgreens & edible flowers business. This venture reignited my passion for gardening, and it became a daily practice in my adult life.
What are some of your favourite plants to grow in the garden?

I love growing leafy veggies, not only because they are easy to grow but also because spinach/basil grown at home just tastes a lot better than store-bought ones. Growing my first baby spinach, I discovered paalak doesn’t have to be bitter; it only tastes that way because of all the pesticides clinging to it in the ones you buy!
What are some of the plants that you’ve not had as much success with?

I have a terrible track record with radish, above ground everything looks good the leaves grow very well but underground my mortal enemy worms eat it all up! Root veggies have given me trust issues in life!
Are there any new plants on your wishlist?

Chives are on my wishlists, both for their flowers and the stem that we use in food but they can be tough to grow in my climate.
What would you like to say to our new gardeners?

Hang in there, be ready to fail at times but don’t give up, It’s a game of patience. There is nothing more rewarding than working with your hands and seeing seeds sown by you grow into big beautiful plants.
Any gardening hack you wanna share with us?

Some home remedies I picked up on the way are: Use coffee grounds or place a cup of beer to get rid of slugs. Use Cinnamon powder to fight fungus.
