Growing guide for Ranunculus Pink Bulbs

Planting instructions

This step is essential. Begin by soaking the bulbs before planting. Place them in a container filled with room-temperature water and let them soak for one to two hours. This will encourage sprouting. Plant Ranunculus bulbs in the spring or fall. Choose a sunny spot in your garden with well-drained soil. Dig a hole about 2-3 inches deep. Place the bulb with the "claws" facing down (pointy side up) and cover it with soil. Space the bulbs about 4-6 inches apart to allow room for growth. If you prefer growing Ranunculus in containers, use a pot with good drainage holes. Fill the container with well-draining potting mix. Plant the bulbs about 2-3 inches deep, again with the claws down, and space them as mentioned earlier.

Growing Requirements

Pests

Keep an eye out for snails and slugs. They might nibble on your Ranunculus leaves, so use organic slug control methods if needed. Ranunculus are generally disease-resistant, but if you notice any signs of mold or mildew, ensure good air circulation and avoid overwatering.

soil

Ranunculus thrive in well-drained soil that's rich in organic matter. You can improve the soil by adding compost before planting to provide nutrients for your flowers.

spot

Choose a sunny location in your garden or on your balcony. Ranunculus love full sun, which means at least 6-8 hours of sunlight per day.

temperature

Ranunculus prefer cool to mild temperatures. They grow best in temperatures between 50°F to 65°F (10°C to 18°C).

watering

Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water deeply when the top inch of soil feels dry. Watering in the morning allows the plant to dry off during the day, reducing the risk of disease.

how to harvest

Ranunculus flowers will start to bloom about 90 days after planting. Once the blooms are fully open and vibrant, it's time to cut them for your bouquets. Use sharp scissors or garden shears to cut the stems, leaving about 1-2 inches of stem attached to the flower. Harvest the blooms in the morning when they are well-hydrated for longer vase life. Remove any leaves that will be submerged in water in your bouquet vase to prevent rotting. Ranunculus make stunning additions to floral arrangements, so enjoy your beautiful, colourful bouquets!

Ranunculus

Have planted them and hope they will flower unlike the freesias I purchased from you. Also the price for these bulbs seems excessively high.
